Beyond the Dish

Stephen Fried

Describing Stephen Fried as a foodie is an understatement. Yes, he has an incredible passion for cooking, eating, and learning about food, but he has the added gift of a larger than life personality and contagious joie de vivre, making him a natural at interacting with everyone in the culinary world. As the Associate Publisher of Great Places, an upscale private dining/event venue directory and website, he has fostered relationships with countless chefs and restaurateurs.
When he’s not reading recipes, cooking for his family and friends, or exploring new places to dine, Stephen is figuring out ways to share his findings with the world and all of this is on full display on his new show Beyond the Dish , produced by Stephen and IB Creative. He also loves to play guitar, sing, has a band, and is a lover of live music.

Stephen also does part time ad sales for Eater.com, was an early twitter user @venueczar and, through his event and venue business, has become an uber location scout, consulting with event planners and others looking for the next “great place” to hold their event. Stephen has lived in Greenwich Village, NYC for the past 26 years. He is married and has a son, both of whom are part of his built in tasting team.
